Went out with don (user imabasshole) and my brother on the reservoir for smallies and largemouth. Used mostly mixed senkos. Quite a few bass fishermen around the dam, but had good success down river with smallies and a few largemouth.

Snapped my rod last time out, so went today to try out the new gear. Brought a tiny 5' spinner, new camera, and my kayak to Batterson pond in New Britain for a few casts. Positioned myself behind this small island in about a foot of water and landed a 4" watermelon senko in a tight shaded corner on top of a big ol' pig. Quickly found out my drag needed to be adjusted; I pulled her in by hand. It was wrapped in about 3lbs of weeds and made a mess of my kayak while I tried to free it up. Only fish of the day, but didn't mess around too much after that. Foggy water, hot, mid-day.

Went kayaking on the lake with my cousin, hot and sunny day. Water was cloudy, a lot of garbage in the water; tires, barrels, etc. Never fished here before, but saw many bass fishermen going at it, none of whom seemed to be having any luck. A homemade sea-plane came in for a landing on the water, scared the hell out of everyone on the lake. Overall, poor fishing: a few bites, one small bass. Used 4" smoke/black flake senco, a few bites on a green grub.
